In addition to my clinical work, I am also active in research. My research interests are ethnic-racial socialization and the identity development of racialized people in Germany and Europe. Additionally, I am interested in better understanding relevant aspects of psychological wellbeing and resources of racialized people.
In my doctoral thesis, I focus on multiraciality, a highly marginalized topic in Europe. I am investigating the socialization process of multiracial individuals* and multiracial families**, including resources and challenges. In addition, I am interested in developing intervention strategies that address the needs of multiracial individuals and families, which also combines my clinical expertise.
*Multiracial individuals: Individuals whose both parents are racialized differently (e.g., white German and Asian)
**Multiracial families: Families in which the family members are racialized differently.
